Support is widespread from all organizations that visit properties from taxi drivers, Utilities and Posties.
Many householders and businesses are still failing to place their property numbers in a visible position or failing to put them up at all. Ideally the number should always be fixed on a gate or entrance post nearest the road and not hidden from view by overgrown hedges and trees.
Emergency Services, Utilities and all those who call on residents in the Bournemouth area waste valuable time searching for the correct address, especially at night. In many cases, especially in a medical emergency or when a property is on fire, it can be those wasted moments which can make the difference between living or dying.

There has been a considerable improvement, especially with householders taking pride in displaying a visible house number since the inception of the project. The project team have made sure older residents have their numbers renewed and supplied temporary numbers where they are non- existent, working with the Fire Service.

It is a legal requirement to mark all property with the relevant number and to renew such numbers when they become obliterated or defaced.

Anyone wanted advice on their address can telephone Bournemouth Borugh Council Street Numbering Deparment on 01202 451360  or email addressmanagement@bournemouth.gov.uk
